KLM Cityhopper
KLM's active regional subsidiary, created from the merger of NLM CityHopper and Netherlines, was given a new name, 'KLM Cityhopper' and a complete new fleet of more than 20 new Fokker 50s and Saab 340Bs. The company now flew three types - the 33 seater Saab 340B, the 50 seater Fokker 50 and the 80 seater Fokker F-28. |

long term agreement
KLM and Northwest Airlines sign long
term agreement. At a ceremony in New York, September 29, 1997, KLM
President and Chief Executive Officer Leo M. van Wijk and Northwest
President and Chief Executive Officer John H. Dasburg signed a ten-year
global joint venture agreement taking the successful and profitable
partnership between the two airlines to its next stage of development and
integration. |

ALITALIA - KLM ALLIANCE "ONE
TICKET TO THE WORLD"
Amsterdam, November 27, 1998:
Alitalia and KLM signed a Master Cooperation Agreement governing their
long-term alliance. The two partners have additionally concluded a
Passenger Venture Agreement and a Cargo Venture Agreement. |
