The years 1949-1958

First KLM flight via Polar route to Japan.

		1949 New KLM Headquarters KLM opened new corporate headquarters in The Hague on a street later renamed in honor of Albert Plesman.

		1950 Schiphol aerial view KLM home base right from the start in 1920, an aerial view of Schiphol in the early fifties.



		1958 Last piston type aircraft The last great piston type aircraft in KLM's service was the Douglas DC-7C.
